My Father’s Arrows
My Father’s Arrows, Inc. is a faith-based, community-driven public charity that is committed to restoring and caring for orphans. The organization was founded in 2014 by two experienced foster-adoptive parents who had a combined 44 years of experience working with special needs children. Their goal was to improve the lives of foster children by addressing the instability and lack of support that contribute to negative behaviors, poor choices, and decreased school performance.
To achieve its mission, the organization educates the community on the unique needs of these children, recruits caregivers and advocates, and secures child-specific resources that help them reach their full potential. At the center of its work is “Mama’s House,” a private placement children’s home for boys and girls between the ages of 0-17 who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, rejected, or are otherwise struggling with the aftermath of trauma.
The home provides a safe, nurturing, trauma-informed Christian environment that is fully registered with The Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies as a Type II child-caring agency under Florida Statue 409.176. The organization understands that children with traumatic experiences often struggle with negative behaviors, academic difficulties, and dysfunctional attachments. That’s why it provides round-the-clock supervision, a highly structured environment, and low relational pressure that helps them thrive. Its TBRI parenting model focuses on meeting the underlying needs behind behaviors and correcting negative behaviors based on Christian values.
The residential farmstead setting offers a comfortable and supportive environment that fosters educational excellence, spiritual growth, healthy lifestyles, and an abundance of recreational opportunities. By targeting high-risk populations of children impacted by trauma and the foster care system, the organization is creating systemic change that not only benefits the youth it serves, but the community at large.
