Bedford is a town in Westchester County, New York, USA. The population was 17,335 at the 2010 census. The Town of Bedford is located in the northeastern part of Westchester County, and contains the three hamlets of Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, and Katonah. Westchester County ranks number two (number one being Manhattan) for wealthiest counties in New York State and the seventh wealthiest county nationally. Bedford, commonly known as Bedford Village, is a hamlet (and census-designated place or CDP) located in the town of Bedford in Westchester County, New York. The population was 1,834 at the 2010 census. Bedford is a community in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, centered approximately at the corner of modern-day Fulton Street and Franklin Avenue. Bedford, in pre-American Revolutionary War times, was the first major settlement to the east of the then-Village of Brooklyn on the Brooklyn & Jamaica Turnpike to Jamaica, Queens and the rest of Long Island.
